East Providence firefighters were among the many who got their heads shaved for a good cause Wednesday night.
Members of the East Providence Fire Department took part in the St. Baldrick's fundraiser, which was celebrated with a hair-shaving event Wednesday night at McFadden's in Providence. The East Providence Fire Department raised more than $1,500 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which raises money to find cures for childhood cancers, according to East Providence firefighter Chris Sperry. Rob Pray, an East Providence firefighter, said his shave "tickled." "I expected it to hurt," he said. "I was expected 1,000 little bees, but it tickled."
