Bay View's Valedictorian Moves On to Larger Waters

Bethany Biszko plans to study veterinary medicine at Georgetown University, while also serving on its crew team.

For the past four years, Bethany Biszko could be found yelling at the top of her lungs out on the Seekonk River. It was just a normal weekday afternoon for the coxswain for St. Mary Academy-Bay View's crew team. This fall, Biszko will move to larger waters as she continues her athletic pursuits at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Biszko will be acting as coxswain for the men's heavyweight crew team at Georgetown, a position she chose after a difficult college decision process that included tempting offers from other prestigious universities. She says she has decided to continue with crew because of her positive experience with the team at Bay View. "The girls who did crew became my family," Biszko noted. "I want to have something …

Bay View Alumnae Return to Pin New Members

The pinning took place Thursday after the Baccalaureate Mass.

More than 120 alumnae of St. Mary Academy-Bay View returned to their alma mater Thursday to pin seniors who are about to leave the school. The pinning took place after a Baccalaurate Mass and featured alumni spanning seven decades from the all-girls Catholic school in Riverside. Nine alumnae from the class of 1961, who are celebrating their 50th class reunion, attended as part of the ceremony. Check out the video for highlights of the Mass and pinning.
