ReplyI guess the Patch moderators have fallen asleep at the wheel, particularly the one who approved this blog for publication.
Reading through the comments, it's clear that those who are advocating on behalf of sex offenders and other predators are from a relatively small geographical area encompassing Brooklyn and Riverhead (Long Island), NY. I'm thinking that they meet in back rooms of public libraries in the area and commiserate with each other concerning how THEY are the victims.
I think that castration is an inappropriate punishment for these monsters. I believe that anyone who is convicted of molesting a minor -- and thus irreparably destroying that child's life -- should have his or her arms surgically removed and the word "rapist" tattooed (in reverse) on their foreheads. This would accomplish 3 things:
1) Every morning when they look in the mirror, they would be reminded of what they are.
2) Because they aren't castrated, they would be good and mad about the manner in which society had punished them.
3) Anyone who had ever been abused by these monsters would be free to pick up a 2x4 or a brick or a good sturdy baseball bat and beat the living piss out of them. Without their arms these predators would be as defenseless as the children they had destroyed in the first place.
Sandy McGee, you are being abused when you agree post "articles" like this. In fact, pieces of this nature will cause your readers to leave Patch in droves. Shame on you.

ReplyVery good, Miss Nope. You repeated my request. See? I told you everything everyone has written is here and easy to find. I see you were also able to repeat my observation as to what might be fun after you finally answered the request.
Now please, read this slowly and carefully, one more time:
-- please quote from the thread above where YOU replied to my request with a
-- specific answer of your own.If that's too much for you, please:
1) Type the one-word sentence "Nope" again,
2) Tell us how much smarter you are than all of us who are irrationally staying here in RI doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, and
3) Resume posting your opinions without reading/absorbing the thoughts of others.

ReplyKatherine:
Since we are communicating in a medium in which our words are written and saved, it's relatively easy to nail down what I "specifically" asked you:
-- Please, Katherine, tell us the state in which you now live.
So, Miss Nope, please quote from the thread above where you replied to that request with a specific answer of your own.
And, for the record, Miss Nope, none of us really care where you live. We just react, as most humans would, when you hold yourself out to be smarter than the rest of us (e.g., "You are just mad because I was smart enough to get the heck out of there.").

Tired of NK antics:
Those are some mighty impressive statistics and they sure do tell 100% of the story. In fact, those statistics are so impressive, I have to wonder why you haven't joined Katherine in relocating to SD.
Since your statistical recitation indicates there is no possible reason someone might want to stay in RI, I'll make a request for when you do move: Please try to handle it a little better than dear Katherine and resist the urge to disparage the state you've left behind. That would be rude and annoying.
Good luck to both of you.

So, Katherine, South Dakota, eh?
Spend a week in South Dakota! On Monday, see Mount Rushmore! On Tuesday, see Mount Rushmore again! On Wednesday, visit the gift shop at Mount Rushmore! And on Thursday, relive your first experience, at Mount Rushmore!
Since you've lived there, Katherine, have you learned that cow pies are not made of beef? As a newly minted and TRUE and content South Dakotan, do you pick up all the free stuff at the State Fair? Do you go on down to the river and tell the other South Dakotans that it's almost like going to the ocean?
And, is the reason that you continue to hang around this neck of the woods, trolling on the Rhode Island Patches, because there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE TO DO IN SOUTH DAKOTA?
We wuz jus' wonderin', sugar.

Please, Katherine, tell us the state in which you now live. It would be fun to compare and contrast.

I live on Hope Street in Lotsirb, Bulgaria. I am a LOCAL VOICE, so please do make joy-covered pardons for my lapses in your language.
I am here spreading some big ideas without small boundaries to embiggen all the local Rhode Island minds. I am like a hyper-local comment person too also.
But before I am continuing on this mule-journey, I need to address some shrieks made above by that other famous local voice, Arthur Chistopher Schaper.
Arthur Christopher wrote:
-- Answer -- the word is still out on that -- one colleague of mine suggested that
-- college students investigate this possible phenomenon...and...
-- We have OPEN primaries because of a voter initiative. RI has the same thing, or
-- what?...and...
-- NOT ANYMORE -- A Citizens Commission just drew all the state and federal
-- districts. Some notorious incumbents were just pushed out of office.Arthur Christopher, did you really think I was seriousing around when I said I was going to write an article manifesto on those 3 topics you shrieked yourself about? And if you did mind me seriously, didn't you see where I said this would be first article in "weekly humor blog"? But you solemnly and seriously made some screaming and responding to it anyway?
Ooofah.*
As we say in Lotsirb, please try to stay with the program, bucko.
---------
* "Ooofah", translated from the Bulgarian, means approximately, "Jeez howdy-do. Is this 'local voice' boy tone deaf, or what?"

Let's play another game.
My game is in the form of a Zen koan:
Why is a liberal whose home base is Deerfield, Illinois ....
Arguing with a conservative who hails from Lake Bluff, Illinois ....
Via the pages of an article posted to the Barrington, Rhode Island Patch?
I have a few possible answers to this question, but in the Buddhist tradition, I'd like to glom onto a smidgen of wisdom (leading to the realization of Ultimate Truth) by first hearing the thoughts of others.
What does everyone think?
