Nearly two decades in the foodservice industry and a true passion for food have made Nick Rabar one of the most well known culinary personalities and chefs in the New England area.  Nick received a degree from the Culinary Institute of America in New York and has perfected his craft in some of the finest kitchens in New York, Boston and Providence. Most recently, Nick was the Vice President of Operations and Corporate Executive Chef of the nationally acclaimed &#34;Chow Fun Food Group,&#34; in Providence.  During his 10 successful years at the culinary helm of this prestigious multi-concept corporation Nick gained many accolades from diners and critics alike, including &#34;<i>Chef of the Year&#34;</i> by <i>Rhode Island Hospitality Association</i>, &#34;<i>Best and Brightest Young American Chefs&#34; </i>by<i> Spirit Magazine </i>and was recognized by <i>The James Beard Foundation</i> in 2007.

After nearly a decade with the multi concept <i>Chow Fun Group, </i>Nick branched out on his own forming <i>Avenue N Concepts, </i>in 2010<i>.</i> His first restaurant – Avenue N – a seasonal American Bistro is scheduled to open this spring at the Rumford Center in East Providence.  While the scope of Nick&#39;s culinary skill has afforded him great range in the kitchen, he is also a well known television personality, and the affable host of his own lifestyle &amp; cooking show right here in Rhode Island.  <i>Nick Rabar, Chef 2 Go</i>, is currently filming its second season.  You can catch Nick every Monday night at 8PM on Cox Sports, Channel 3.  Where he can be found scouring New England for hidden dining destinations and unique ingredients. 

In addition to developing and successfully launching more than a dozen divergent restaurant concepts throughout his career, Nick is an aspiring writer and jumped at the opportunity to write a food column for PATCH, East Providence.  As a proud resident and business owner in East Providence, he is thrilled to have a venue with which to reach out to the community and share his passion for all things food.  If you&#39;d like to learn more about Nick, his many accomplishments have been featured on local and national television, including <i>Food Network</i> and his work has emerged in several publications including The New York Times, Boston Globe, Providence Journal, Food Arts and Saveur magazines.
